TIMMINS, ON – The Ontario Nonprofit Network (ONN) and the Timmins Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) will be hosting a regional network event in Timmins, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Best Western Northwood Hotel and Conference Centre.
The full day event is an opportunity for nonprofits, charities, and community organizations to deepen relationships with each other, think big picture, and work together for a thriving nonprofit environment.
Nonprofit leaders will have the opportunity to explore policies, strategies, and partnerships happening in Ontario’s nonprofit sector. At a local level, they will discuss how those broader issues and trends are showing up in Timmins and the region. The network approach encourages peers to strategize and collaborate to address common issues which include organizational capacity, volunteer recruitment and funding.
The event is fully subscribed, with just over fifty tickets sold to representatives of organizations from across our local nonprofit sector. Their diverse missions include healthcare, social services, youth, recreation, art and culture.
The TEDC is looking forward to welcoming the ONN team, and to engage with Timmins’ nonprofit community. Nonprofits play a vital role in creating and maintaining healthy, vibrant and inclusive communities in Timmins, and across Ontario. In 2021, Bill 9 proclaimed the third week in February each year as Non-Profit Sector Appreciation Week to recognize the importance of the nonprofit sector in Ontario, which is the largest in Canada.

About the ONN
ONN is an independent network for the 58,000 nonprofits in Ontario, focused on policy, advocacy, and services to strengthen Ontario’s nonprofit sector as a key pillar of our society and economy.
ONN works to create a public policy environment that strengthens nonprofits so they can do more. They activate nonprofit networks by convening and engaging organizations, leaders, and stakeholders to tackle cross-cutting issues at a sector-wide level.
