Timmins Chamber president Kraymr Grenke and board members were on hand to receive a $20k check from the MAT Fund presented by MAT Tourism Fund Committee members Steven Viccagee and Tiffany Thibeau. The funds will go towards costs related to the upcoming Ontario Chamber of Commerce 2024 Annual General Meeting and Convention.

Timmins will play host to 140 Chamber board members from across the province on April 25th-27th. The convention will showcase Timmins as a vibrant hub for business and commerce in Ontario and will enhance Timmins’ reputation as a destination for business events.

Mike Kentish from the TEDC MAT Tourism Fund Committee, and Mayor Boileau presented the check for $17,000 at the Archie Dillion Sportsplex Arena, on Friday, April 5, 2024 surrounded by members of the Timmins North Stars and Timmins Minor Hockey.

The funds supported the organization with costs directly related to hosting the 2024 Tournament of Champions over two weekends in March and April. The tournament brought 17 teams and over 1100 visitors to Timmins.
