TIMMINS, ON – The Timmins Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) and the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) Subcommittee is pleased to announce a grant in support of the Punjabi Cultural Music Festival featuring renowned Bhangra performer Jazzy B being held during the 1st Annual Khalsa Day Parade on June 25, 2022.
The festivities of the day will include traditional ceremonies, free vegetarian food, turban tying experience, Gatka (Sikh Martial Arts) and an information display. The parade is expected to draw 1000 participants along with dignitaries walking the route.
This event celebrates Sikh culture in Timmins and welcomes residents from the Timmins District and the region to participate in the festivities. The event has been coordinated with the Timmins Festivals and Events Committee, The Downtown Timmins BIA, Timmins Police Services, the Mattagami Region Conservation Authority, The City of Timmins and the Timmins Economic Development Corporation.
The check presentation will be made on Monday, June 13 at 11:30am at the Gurdwara Sikh Sangat of Timmins at 24 Cedar St. S.. More information on the celebration will be available from Kanwaljit (Daisy) Bains, event organizer, at the time of the check presentation.
