TORONTO, ON – The City of Timmins proudly hosted its 2nd Annual Timmins Reception on Tuesday, March 3 during the 2026 Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Convention in Toronto, bringing together industry leaders, suppliers, operating mines, exploration companies, Indigenous partners, and government representatives to celebrate mining excellence in Timmins.
The supplier-led event highlighted the strength, capacity, and collaboration of Timmins’ mining supply and services sector, reinforcing the city’s role as a key contributor to Ontario’s and Canada’s mining ecosystem. The reception created valuable opportunities for local businesses to showcase their expertise, strengthen partnerships, and connect with key decision-makers across the global mining industry.
A highlight of the event was the door prize: a Timmins-minted ounce of gold, generously supplied by Premier Canadian Mint. The prize reflected the region’s rich gold legacy and its continued leadership in mineral production.
“The Timmins Reception continues to demonstrate the strength of our mining supply and services sector and the collaborative spirit that defines our community,” said Mayor Michelle Boileau. “Timmins has long been the heart of Canada’s mining industry, and this event showcased the innovation, expertise, and partnerships that position us for continued growth and global investment.”
The City was also pleased to welcome Parliamentary Secretary Claude Guay, the Honourable Stephen Lecce, Ontario Minister, and the Honourable George Pirie, Ontario Minister, who attended the reception alongside other provincial representatives and industry stakeholders.
